Press brake tooling catalogue

Profiles, die types, segment lengths, tool steels and rated loads across the four tooling systems, and how to specify a tool from them.

Last updated:

What is in the press brake tooling catalogue?

The catalogue covers the four tooling systems with their standard punch profiles, die types, segment conventions, tool steel options and rated loads, so a profile can be specified and ordered by reference.

What the catalogue covers

Standard profiles are the starting point for most work. Anything outside them is made to drawing.

How do I use the catalogue to specify a tool?

Work from the interface first, then the profile, then the length and segment split. The interface decides what will fit; the profile decides what the tool can reach; the length decides the material and the price.

  1. Identify the tooling interface from the tang and the clamp.
  2. Choose the punch profile from what the tool has to reach over.
  3. Choose the die opening from the required radius and the material thickness.
  4. Set the length and the segment split from the bend length and clearances.
  5. Select the tool steel and hardness for the duty.
  6. Check the rated load per metre against the calculated force.

Is there a downloadable version?

Catalogue sections are supplied on request together with the tooling drawings for the profiles you are interested in. Ask for the specific sections rather than the whole document.

Send the interface and the profiles you need and you will get the relevant pages with dimensions and ratings, which is more useful than a general document.

Can I get drawings for a specific profile?

Yes. Dimensioned drawings are supplied for any profile on request, which is what most workshops need in order to check the tool against the machine and the part.

For a special profile, the drawing is produced during design and forms part of the quotation.
